Describe your personal experience with skateboarding.
I am not a skateboarder. I have walked by the new St. Cloud Skate Park many times as I walk around Heritage Park. General perception is positive.
Can you do a kick flip?
No
Do the communities you would represent have quality, accessible, visible skateboarding spaces?
Yes. St. Cloud recently built a new Skate Park. However, the skateboarders would have to attest to the quality of the park. When I walked by it recently, I saw adolescent children with parents as well as young adults there.
Do you see the connection between skateboarding and social, racial, gender, and economic equity? If so, please share a few thoughts.
Yes, most definitely I do see a connection. I believe that any activity where a person feels success and confidence is well worth supporting.
How will you support youth and community health with new ideas and infrastructure?
I support youth, I support learning, I support physical activity, I support socializing. Giving people these positive parks to grow is investment in our community. I support investing in our community.
Will you support fully funding the Minnesota Skate Park Grant Program (SF2502/HF2876) in the 2023 Legislative session and beyond?
Yes! I love the findings of the study. Bravo.
